A press conference this morning sparked confusion over a Discord chat involving Tyler Robinson, the suspect in an ongoing investigation. According to reports, Robinson’s roommate shared screenshots of messages with investigators, revealing discussions about retrieving a rifle from a drop site and references to “unique” weapons potentially traceable to him.

The roommate claimed he treated the conversation as a joke, despite its incriminating nature. Investigators obtained photos of the chat, which included messages from a contact named Tyler—possibly Robinson himself—discussing the placement of a rifle in a bush, monitoring the area, and mentioning the weapon was wrapped in a towel. Additional details referenced engraving bullets, a scope, and changes in clothing.

Further findings include a bolt-action Mauser 98 rifle discovered on Utah Valley University campus, wrapped in a dark towel and equipped with a scope. Bullet casings found with the weapon bore inscriptions such as “Notices, bulges,” “WHAT’S THIS?,” and offensive remarks like “If you read this, you are gay LMAO.”

Robinson was identified through surveillance footage showing him arriving on campus in a gray Dodge Challenger. A family member confirmed he had expressed political views and mentioned Charlie Kirk’s visit to UVU prior to the incident. The roommate’s role in sharing the Discord messages remains unclear, as investigators continue to piece together the timeline.
