Utah Gov. Spencer Cox provided updates on the investigation into Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk. Robinson, currently in custody, is expected to face formal charges soon. Cox confirmed that Robinson has not confessed to authorities despite reports he allegedly told his father about the crime. However, the suspect’s roommate, who is transitioning from male to female, is cooperating with investigators.
Cox also addressed claims that Robinson discussed the assassination on Discord, stating that while conversations occurred, initial participants did not take the remarks seriously until Robinson admitted involvement. The governor emphasized that additional details about Robinson’s background and motives would be disclosed as charges are filed. He urged public compassion amid heightened political tensions.
