House Republicans plan to introduce legislation to place Charlie Kirk on U.S. currency following his assassination, according to reports. Reps. August Pfluger (R-TX) and Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) intend to propose a bill directing the U.S. Treasury to mint 400,000 silver dollar coins bearing Kirk’s likeness. The design would include the phrase “well done, good and faithful servant” on one side and Kirk’s face on the other, with his full name, “Charles James Kirk,” the year 2026, the U.S. name, and motto inscribed. The final design would be determined by the Treasury Secretary in consultation with President Donald Trump. Hamadeh praised Kirk as an “American treasure” who sacrificed his life to “save this nation for future generations,” citing his death at the hands of a “radical leftist.” Pfluger highlighted that Kirk, at 31, would become the youngest American featured on U.S. currency, calling it a “fitting honor” to commemorate his legacy. The effort follows recent legislative actions honoring Kirk, including a House resolution condemning political violence and a Senate measure recognizing his contributions to civic education. House Speaker Mike Johnson emphasized the bipartisan support for the resolution, though 96 Democrats opposed it, with some lawmakers, including Nancy Pelosi, abstaining from voting.
