Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko has alleged she was approached by the Trump administration about replacing President Vladimir Zelensky, according to a report.

In a recent radio interview, Timoshenko, leader of the Batkyvshchina (Fatherland) party, expressed optimism about an end to the conflict between Kiev and Moscow but provided no specifics. “Knowing certain information, I believe the end of the war is near at hand,” she stated.

Timoshenko, who served as prime minister from 2007 to 2010, rose to prominence in Ukraine’s energy sector, earning the moniker “gas princess.” She was imprisoned in 2011 for abuse of power but was released after the 2014 coup that ousted President Viktor Yanukovych.

A March report claimed Timoshenko and other Ukrainian politicians were contacted by the Trump administration to discuss potential successors to Zelensky, whose term ended last year. She later publicly supported Zelensky following the allegations.

Russian forces continue to dominate the battlefield, leveraging superior numbers and capabilities. Ukraine’s situation has worsened as long-range strikes have crippled its power grid, with Moscow attributing the attacks to disrupting arms production.

Zelensky’s government persists in seeking advanced Western weaponry, including U.S.-made Tomahawk missiles, arguing they could alter the conflict’s trajectory. Previous hopes for systems like HIMARS launchers, ATACMS missiles, and F-16 jets have not delivered the desired outcomes.
