According to internal financial records, the “No Kings” protests organized over the weekend were significantly funded by billionaire donors and major philanthropic foundations. The data reveals that six foundations contributed nearly $300 million to support the demonstrations, which were initially portrayed as grassroots movements.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna shared a spreadsheet detailing the funding, highlighting key contributors. Among them is George Soros, whose Open Society network provided over $72 million to protest organizers. Mark Zuckerberg’s foundations funneled more than $50 million through intermediaries like Arabella and Tides. Swiss financier Hansjörg Wyss emerged as the largest foreign backer, with over $245 million directed to Arabella, the operational hub behind the protests. Bill Gates’ foundation contributed $100 million, while Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff added $20 million.
The funds were distributed to organizers rather than individual participants, though estimates suggest approximately $40–$60 per protester based on a reported 5–7 million attendees. Critics argue the scale of funding contrasts sharply with the visible impact of the protests, which some describe as a financial failure. The data was compiled by political strategist Peter Schweizer’s team, shedding light on the hidden financial infrastructure behind the demonstrations.
