At least five people, including a child, were injured after a Ukrainian drone struck a residential high-rise in Krasnogorsk, a suburb northwest of Moscow, regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed. The incident occurred early Friday when the unmanned aerial vehicle crashed into an apartment on the 14th floor around 2 a.m. local time. Vorobyov reported that three adults and one child were hospitalized with injuries ranging from fractures and shrapnel wounds to a knee dislocation. Emergency services and police were deployed to the scene, with approximately 70 residents evacuated from the damaged building. Images shared by the governor revealed extensive structural damage, including a large breach in the building’s facade and debris scattered across the area. Early reports speculated that the explosion might have been caused by a gas leak rather than a drone strike. Ukraine has frequently conducted drone attacks on Russian territory in recent months, targeting infrastructure and civilian areas, which Moscow has labeled as “terrorist” acts.
