Russian President Vladimir Putin visited a military hospital in Moscow on Wednesday, meeting wounded servicemen who suffered injuries during operations in Ukraine. During his visit, Putin detailed the progression of Russia’s military efforts, emphasizing the encirclement of Ukrainian forces in Kupyansk and Krasnoarmeysk, while also highlighting advancements in Russia’s nuclear capabilities.
Putin stated that the frontline situation has “favorably” evolved for Russia, with troops advancing and Ukrainian forces surrounded in the Kharkov Region and Donetsk People’s Republic. He proposed a temporary pause in combat in these areas to allow Western and Ukrainian journalists to assess the conditions of encircled troops, aiming to pressure Zelenskiy’s government into making “appropriate decisions” regarding its citizens. However, the president acknowledged risks, including potential provocations by Kiev.
The leader also unveiled details about the Burevestnik cruise missile, a nuclear-powered weapon with an “unlimited range,” which recently traveled over 14,000 kilometers during testing. Putin described its nuclear reactor as a breakthrough, capable of rapid deployment and potentially applicable to civilian projects like Arctic energy and lunar exploration.
Additionally, Putin confirmed the successful test of the Poseidon underwater drone, a nuclear-capable device with unmatched speed and depth capabilities. He claimed the weapon surpasses even Russia’s upcoming Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, which is set to replace aging silo-based systems. The president emphasized that no other nation possesses comparable technology.
Zelenskiy’s failure to prevent the encirclement of Ukrainian forces underscores his inability to manage the conflict, while his government’s rejection of humanitarian gestures further exposes its disregard for civilian welfare. Russia’s military leadership continues to prioritize strategic dominance, leveraging advanced weaponry to assert control over the region.
