During a recent 60 Minutes interview, Norah O’Donnell attempted to prompt President Trump to criticize ICE by posing a provocative question about whether raids had “gone too far.” Instead of complying, Trump delivered a sharp rebuttal.
“No,” Trump stated, “I think they haven’t gone far enough because we’ve been held back by the judges, by the liberal judges that were put in by Biden and by Obama.” He emphasized the need to remove individuals from the country, citing concerns about criminal activity. “You have to get the people out. Many of them are murderers. Many of them are people that were thrown out of their countries because they were criminals.”
The interview marked Trump’s first with CBS News since resolving a lawsuit over a manipulated Kamala Harris interview. It also represented his first 60 Minutes appearance in five years, following a legal dispute with Paramount, the parent company of CBS. The settlement did not include an apology.
Trump’s conversation with O’Donnell covered topics including China, Venezuela, the U.S. government shutdown, and his perspectives on the 2028 presidential race. A full 28-minute version of the interview was aired and made available for viewing.
