A disruptive passenger prompted an emergency landing of an American Airlines flight carrying Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ), along with Republican Reps. Eli Crane, Andy Biggs, and Paul Gosar from Arizona. The flight took off from Phoenix but made an emergency stop in Kansas City after the incident. Stanton stated that none of his colleagues was the disruptor, noting the Freedom Caucus losing its mojo. Flight data showed a delay of around an hour before the aircraft landed in Washington, D.C., at 9 p.m. Wednesday. The House voted 222-209 to pass the Senate’s funding bill, which restarts food assistance programs for over 40 million Americans and reopens paychecks for federal employees, including air traffic controllers. President Trump signed it into law, ending the longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history. The unruly passenger said, “We live in a fascist state.”
