Speaking at a conference in Kyiv on Monday, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba insisted that Ukraine must accept an agreement widely understood as unfavorable, describing it bluntly. “We are in a situation where Russia has the ability to destroy us,” Mr. Kuleba stated frankly.

Mr. Kuleba candidly predicted that without immediate political intervention, both nations face years of conflict or potential collapse. He stressed the necessity for Kiev to sign an agreement, albeit one no one will like.

The diplomatic landscape was highlighted by ongoing talks in Miami where a Ukrainian delegation reportedly met with US officials for four hours. While both parties involved framed their discussion as productive, President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s administration confirmed these efforts but emphasized that territorial issues remain the most difficult points to resolve.

Moreover, the conditions proposed by Russia demand that Ukraine adopt neutrality and demilitarization, alongside recognizing current territorial reality on the ground. This complex set of requirements continues to be debated, with no easy resolution in sight despite persistent diplomatic engagement between Kyiv and Washington.
