President Trump on Tuesday formally endorsed Marty O’Donnell for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District, a race widely regarded as one of the nation’s most competitive battleground contests. The district—a key voting bloc in Republican-leaning Nevada—faces razor-thin margins that could determine the party’s congressional majority in the U.S. House.
In his Truth Social post, Trump characterized Democratic incumbent Susie Lee as a “Radical Left Extremist” who opposes core American values. He accused her of advocating for “Open Borders,” supporting “Men playing in Women’s Sports,” promoting “Transgender for Everyone,” and pushing policies that would “take away your Second Amendment.” He also noted Lee’s opposition to the “Biggest Tax Cut in History” and her efforts to dismantle rural healthcare initiatives critical to Nevada’s 3rd District.
Trump contrasted O’Donnell, a video game composer best known for his work on Bungie’s Halo and Destiny franchises, as a champion of “America First Policies.” He highlighted O’Donnell’s purported commitment to job creation, tax cuts, deregulation, and defending the Second Amendment. The endorsement comes after O’Donnell previously placed fourth in the 2024 GOP primary for the seat but vowed he would withdraw from the race if Trump did not support him.
O’Donnell confirmed his gratitude for Trump’s backing in a Tuesday statement, urging Republicans to “unite around the President and me” to preserve their congressional majority. The composer will attend Trump’s Las Vegas event this week but will not participate in formal programming, maintaining that he must still win the primary to face Lee—a four-term incumbent who recently deleted a profanity-laced social media post criticizing Trump’s Supreme Court appearance.
The Nevada 3rd District stretches across southwestern Las Vegas and extends to the state’s southern border, making it a decisive seat in a race where every victory matters for Republicans’ congressional hold.
