Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has made significant progress in his recovery after being hospitalized in critical condition for pneumonia. Just three days later, he is now out of the intensive care unit and will continue to recover before returning home.
Giuliani’s son, Andrew Giuliani, reported that his father is conscious, off the ventilator, and even cracking jokes from his hospital bed.
The 81-year-old former mayor was hospitalized over the weekend after contracting pneumonia. He developed a respiratory illness around the time of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, which led to a coma but he is now emerging from it.
