The clip, posted late Friday, shows Trump grabbing Colbert by the suit jacket, giving three shakes, then throwing him into a green bin while the audience applauds. He seals the lid and begins his signature dance.
Trump had previously championed Paramount Skydance’s decision to fire Colbert, stating on Truth Social earlier that day: “Colbert is finally finished at CBS. Amazing that he lasted so long! No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person. You could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk. Thank goodness he’s finally gone!”
The president’s video received immediate social media responses, with former host Jim Acosta criticizing the gesture while others defended it.
