A Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy pulled over 36-year-old Kathleen Thomas in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, in February. The officer accused her of using a cellphone with her right hand.

Thomas revealed she does not have a right hand, as her arm ends at the elbow. Body camera footage captured the exchange, which went viral online.

The video shows the deputy lecturing Thomas about distracted driving while she flashed her right arm to demonstrate she could not hold a phone in that hand. The officer initially insisted she had a phone in his right hand but later admitted his mistake. Court records indicate Thomas received a $116 citation for the offense, which was dismissed at the request of the deputy involved.
