A vigil for Charlie Kirk in Pensacola, Florida, devolved into chaos after a mural honoring the Turning Point USA founder was spray-painted over. Authorities reported a physical altercation broke out around 6 p.m. at Graffiti Bridge, where one individual required medical attention following the incident. A suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

Witnesses described a fight erupting among attendees, with one person deploying pepper spray and another sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was hospitalized, while the person who used the spray left before officers could intervene. The Pensacola Police Department has urged anyone with information about the altercation to come forward.

The mural, originally depicting Kirk, was temporarily obscured by gold spray paint. Organizers later restored it, but the artwork was subsequently defaced again, as evidenced by a social media post from The Graffiti Bridge. By Monday morning, the mural had been completely repainted over.

Scott Yingling, who commissioned the original mural, emphasized the importance of free expression, stating, “That’s the country we live in and it’s only because we live in this country that we have the freedom to express ourselves.” Event organizer Steven Pilgrim described the vigil as a call for unity, saying, “We are here to be a beacon of hope and love to others.”
