Rep. Thomas Massie has been accused by FBI Director Dan Bongino of making baseless allegations against the FBI regarding a whistleblower in the J6 pipe bomb investigation. On Wednesday, Massie claimed to have received a “troubling letter” from the attorney representing an FBI whistleblower, suggesting the FBI is targeting a whistleblower in the case involving pipe bombs near the RNC and DNC headquarters on Jan. 5, 2021. The FBI has been seeking tips about the unknown person who placed two pipe bombs, with a $500,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. Despite the FBI’s efforts, including increased investigative resources and public rewards, Massie alleged a cover-up. Bongino responded that he had tried to contact Massie but was ignored, and criticized Massie for using social media instead of engaging in direct communication. Bongino emphasized the FBI’s commitment to solving the case and addressing any potential malfeasance, while noting that some media reporting is inaccurate.
