The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that certain Democrats in Congress intended to invite illegal aliens as guests during President Trump’s State of the Union address. “Today, some Democrats in Congress are planning to bring illegal aliens as guests to the State of the Union. Once again, they are putting illegal aliens above the safety of American citizens,” DHS stated.

The agency noted that federal officers recently arrested pedophiles, rapists, and violent criminals from communities nationwide. “Yesterday alone our officers arrested pedophiles, rapists, and violent criminals from our communities. President Trump and Secretary Noem have made it abundantly clear: if you come to our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you, we will arrest you, and you will NEVER return,” DHS added.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) reportedly hosted Aliya Rahman, detained during an operation targeting Ecuadorian national Jonathan Chachipanta-Pualacin on January 13. A DHS spokesperson confirmed that ICE executed an arrest warrant for an illegal alien with a final order of removal in Minneapolis’ Park Avenue area, apprehending four individuals.

The spokesperson also detailed that law enforcement officers faced obstruction when responding to the detention: “As officers carried out their law enforcement duties, a significant crowd surrounded them and began impeding law enforcement operations — a federal crime. One agitator ignored multiple commands by an officer to move her vehicle away from the scene. She was arrested for obstruction.”

DHS disputed reports that Rahman was denied medical care after being detained. Another guest of Rep. Omar’s, Mary Granlund, is a local school board chairwoman who has coordinated efforts following the detention of a 5-year-old at Columbia Heights School. According to her office, Granlund works with faculty members “conducting daily patrols, working to connect detained children and families with legal assistance and coordinating food deliveries for families too scared to leave their homes.”

During Trump’s address, Rep. Omar and other House Democrats interrupted the speech by shouting and chanting. Omar declared, “You have killed Americans,” while Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) stated, “Alex wasn’t a criminal,” referring to Alex Pretti. Rep. Norma Torres (D-Calif.) held up a sign displaying photos of Pretti and Renee Nicole Good, who was fatally shot by federal immigration agents in Minnesota. Rep. Al Green was removed from the House chamber earlier that evening for disrupting the president’s speech.

Trump had recently criticized Democrats for causing a partial government shutdown that cut funding to the Department of Homeland Security, stating: “They’re blocking the removal of these people out of our country, and you should be ashamed of yourselves.” His remarks were met with interruptions from Omar and others before being drowned out by GOP chants of “USA.”
