A new report has surfaced that the popular clothing brand Eddie Bauer will file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and close all its U.S. store locations.
Eddie Bauer’s parent company, Authentic Brands Group, recently announced a partnership with Outdoor 5, LLC (Oved) to assume responsibility for Eddie Bauer’s e-commerce and wholesale operations in the United States and Canada, including design and product development.
The company has not confirmed the store closures, but customers have reported that locations are closing abruptly. One customer noted that the company’s website showed a store as open only for them to find it closed upon arrival.
As of Monday morning, Eddie Bauer’s website no longer offers a search function for nearby stores and all returns are directed to an online platform.
