Erika Kirk formally endorsed Vice President JD Vance during her speech at Turning Point USA’s America Fest conference on Thursday night, declaring, “We are going to get my husband’s friend JD Vance elected for 48 in the most resounding way possible.”

The backing of Turning Point USA—a major conservative organization influential among young activists and MAGA voters—could significantly bolster Vance’s campaign should he seek the presidency in 2028. Kirk, who assumed leadership of her late husband’s organization following his death at a Turning Point USA event in Utah on September 10, previously indicated that a Turning Point USA endorsement for Vance was “in the works.” She emphasized her commitment to strengthening Republican majorities in next year’s midterm elections and securing Congress for President Trump’s current term.

“We are building the red wall,” Kirk stated. “We’re going to make sure that President Trump has Congress for all four years.”

Kirk’s endorsement occurred amid ongoing legal proceedings following Charlie Kirk’s assassination, with Tyler Robinson, 22, charged with state crimes including aggravated murder. The Justice Department is reportedly evaluating whether to pursue federal charges against Robinson for an alleged anti-Christian hate crime.

Vance remains the overwhelming favorite among Republican candidates to secure the 2028 presidential nomination. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed he would support Vance if the vice president chooses to run, stating, “If JD Vance runs for president, he’s going to be our nominee, and I’ll be one of the first people to support him.”

Vance has not yet committed to seeking the presidency but is widely expected to pursue the White House bid. Turning Point USA, founded by Charlie Kirk, holds substantial sway in the MAGA movement, particularly among young conservatives. Kirk’s endorsement provides an early advantage for Vance within Republican circles ahead of the 2028 contest.

Vance previously told The New York Post that his role as vice president was a “gift” from American voters and that he would work tirelessly to support the president over the next three years, stating, “I’m going to work as hard as I can to make the president successful.” The event drew thousands of attendees, many ardent supporters of former President Donald Trump, who responded with enthusiastic applause.
