French First Lady Brigitte Macron is set to submit “photographic and scientific evidence” in a U.S. court to affirm her identity as a woman amid a lawsuit against right-wing podcaster Candace Owens. The legal battle centers on conspiracy theories alleging Macron was born male and assumed a female identity.

Owens, 36, has promoted claims that Macron, 72, was born Jean-Michel Trogneux—a man who allegedly stole the identity of her brother. In March 2024, Owens asserted on X that she would “stake [her] entire professional reputation” on the assertion that Macron is a man. The French first couple’s lawyer, Tom Clare, revealed plans to counter these allegations with evidence including photographs and expert testimony.

Clare stated the Macrons intend to present “photographic and scientific evidence” to prove Macron’s biological sex, citing potential photos of her during pregnancy as part of their case. He emphasized the couple’s resolve to “set the record straight,” though he did not specify the exact nature of the evidence.

The legal proceedings follow widespread scrutiny of Macron’s public persona, with critics questioning the relevance of visual proof in establishing gender identity. The court process will determine whether the evidence meets judicial standards for verification.
