Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar has expressed strong criticism of President Trump’s recent expansion of the travel ban, which added 20 nations from the Global South to the list.

Somalia, Omar’s home country, was already part of the original restricted countries. After the expanded ban took effect, Omar appeared on CNN to label it “cruel and inhumane.”

Omar asserted that individuals from these regions are primarily responsible for terrorism, fraud, and stealing from taxpayers.

She added that her opposition to the travel ban suggests President Trump is effectively addressing problems created by previous administrations.
