The FBI and Boston police are searching for two suspects allegedly linked to an intentional explosion at Harvard University’s medical building on Saturday morning.
An “intentional” explosion occurred early Saturday on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building, part of Harvard’s medical campus in Boston, triggering a fire alarm and immediate police response. Investigators identified two individuals seen fleeing the scene wearing masks, captured on CCTV footage released by the university. One suspect was depicted in a balaclava, while the other wore a hoodie with a raised hood and face covering.
No injuries were reported following the incident, which occurred at 2:48 a.m. Initial assessments by the Boston Fire Department’s arson unit indicated the explosion “appeared to be intentional.” Law enforcement conducted a building sweep for additional devices but found none. The Harvard University Police Department is leading the investigation alongside local and federal partners.
A student, Joey Awad, described hearing a loud bang that “felt in my body,” followed by another explosion moments later. The Goldenson Building, constructed in 1906, is part of Harvard’s Boston campus. The university has requested public assistance in identifying the suspects.
