A 30-year-old man in Minnesota has been arrested by the FBI following the posting of a video on TikTok that called for the assassination of Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. The video featured a “WANTED poster” with a target on Bondi’s head, offering a $45,000 bounty. Tyler Maxon Avalos now faces federal charges of Interstate Transmission of a Threat to Injure the Person of Another.
The investigation began on October 9, 2025, after a TikTok user in Detroit reported the post to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center. Federal agents obtained screenshots of the video, which included an image of Bondi with a red sniper-scope sight superimposed on her forehead. The caption read: “cough cough when they don’t serve us then what?”
Avalos’s TikTok profile used the symbol for anarchy in its username and linked to an Anarchist FAQ book, prompting federal investigators to note potential ideological motivations. His criminal history includes a misdemeanor for domestic assault, third-degree domestic battery, and a 2022 felony stalking conviction.
On October 22, Avalos was released from custody under conditions including a ban on traveling outside Minnesota, possession of weapons, alcohol consumption, and internet access without approval. The case highlights the seriousness with which threats against public officials are addressed.
