Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has again denied allegations that Israel was involved in the death of TPUSA Founder Charlie Kirk, labeling claims as a “monstrous lie” spread by unspecified forces. In a video statement shared on X, Netanyahu criticized conspiracy theories linking Israel to Kirk’s assassination, suggesting some rumors may be funded by Qatar.
The premier emphasized Kirk’s pro-Israel activism, noting they had communicated multiple times and that he had recently invited Kirk to visit Israel. Netanyahu described Kirk as a “giant” who defended freedom and the Judeo-Christian civilization, praising his heartfelt support for Israel despite occasional policy disagreements.
Conspiracists have falsely claimed Israel orchestrated the assassination due to Kirk’s mild criticisms of Israeli policies. Netanyahu rejected these assertions, stating, “This is insane. It is false. It is outrageous.” He also implied some accusations might stem from Qatari influence or personal vendettas.
Conservative figures like Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene have discussed Kirk’s complex relationship with Israel, highlighting his admiration for the country despite criticism of Prime Minister Netanyahu. Carlson noted Kirk viewed Netanyahu as a “destructive force” and opposed Israeli actions in Gaza. Greene has also criticized Netanyahu, calling for an end to military aid to Israel and labeling its actions in Gaza as “genocide.”
Netanyahu’s statement came amid ongoing scrutiny of his government’s ties to Qatar, which have fueled speculation about the origins of the conspiracy theories. The premier reiterated that Kirk’s legacy deserved “honor, not lies.”
