Harry Enten, chief data analyst for CNN, stated that the majority of Americans support requiring photo identification to vote.

“Americans agree with Nicki Minaj when it comes to voter ID. According to a Pew study, 83% favor photo voter ID requirements — this includes 70% or more of Democrats and Republicans, as well as 75% or more of Americans across races including White, Black, and Latino populations,” Enten explained.

“It’s not controversial,” he added.

In a viral X post that garnered over 50 million views, Nicki Minaj questioned what “sensible” nation is debating whether voter ID should be required.

“What sensible forward-thinking, cutting-edge, leading nation is having a debate on whether or not there should be VOTER ID?!?!!!! Like?!?!? They’re actually fighting NOT to have people present ID while voting for your leaders!!!!! Do you get it?!?!!! Do you get it now?!?!!!” Minaj wrote.

Enten has refuted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) assertion that requiring photo ID to vote is racist.

Nicki Minaj, who was born in Trinidad and Tobago and holds no U.S. citizenship, recently received one of President Donald Trump’s $1 million Gold Cards designed to expedite the visa process. However, reports indicate that it was merely a “memento” and would not assist her citizenship efforts.

Voter ID requirements are currently under scrutiny as Republicans seek to include the SAVE Act in a presidential funding deal. The legislation would mandate proof of U.S. citizenship for voting in federal elections.
