A teacher from Cincinnati’s BrightPath early learning center, Corrine Baum, has been terminated after posting a video on TikTok that referenced an assassination attempt on President Trump. In the video, which surfaced following the White House Correspondents’ Dinner incident, Baum stated: “Man, there’s been a few creators on here saying that like Friday or yesterday could have been the day and then I wake up to that news, but not that news.” She added, “We’re going to have to pay really close attention to what they’re trying to actually distract us from.”
BrightPath confirmed the termination in a Monday statement: “Our organization does not tolerate and explicitly condemns any calls for violence. The comments made online by this individual are deeply inconsistent with our values.”
Separately, an employee at Wisconsin’s Kaukauna Area School District has been placed on administrative leave after posting about an assassination attempt on President Trump. The district stated that the employee expressed disappointment in what they described as a failed attempt and emphasized their rejection of any conduct that condones violence. “The Kaukauna Area School District is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all students, families, and staff,” the statement added.
Additionally, Cole Allen, the man charged with carrying out the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, has been identified as an educator.
