Yesterday, Attorney General Pam Bondi sent Governor Tim Walz a “sternly worded letter.” Today, during a press conference, Walz openly mocked the document, stating it was not a serious attempt to address issues including sanctuary cities and fraud.

Walz criticized Bondi’s claims that his administration had withheld individuals from state jails for extended periods, calling such assertions “lying.” He emphasized that the attorney general’s letter did not involve forensic accountants or other fraud investigations, noting the matter had been ongoing and addressed by his team. Walz also stated that his administration provided requested numbers to Bondi and that the attorney general’s demands were not credible. The governor concluded the issue was “totally unrelated” to any allegations of election fraud.
