President Trump announced Wednesday night that all U.S. aircraft, ships, weaponry, and military personnel will remain in place near Iran until an official agreement with the nation is achieved. The statement came via a Truth Social post where Trump emphasized that U.S. forces would stay “in and around” Iran during negotiations.

In his remarks, Trump warned that if diplomatic efforts fail—which he described as “highly unlikely”—U.S. military action would escalate significantly, stating: “The ‘Shootin’ Starts,’ bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before.” He also reiterated demands that Iran abandon nuclear weapons and ensure the Strait of Hormuz remains open and secure.

Trump further criticized media outlets for reporting what he called a “totally FAKE TEN POINT PLAN” on Iran negotiations. The president accused The New York Times and CNN of spreading misinformation that undermined peace process participants, labeling the reported points as a “made up HOAX.”

U.S.-Iran talks are scheduled to begin in Islamabad, Pakistan, Saturday.
