President Donald Trump has announced he will bestow the Presidential Medal of Honor on Rudy Giuliani, calling him a “true American hero” for his decades of public service. The announcement was made on TruthSocial, where Trump highlighted Giuliani’s role in revitalizing New York City, his efforts to challenge the 2020 election results, and his recent ordeal.

Giuliani was seriously injured in a car accident last night in New Hampshire. According to an official statement released by his team, he stopped to assist a woman involved in a domestic violence incident before being struck from behind by another vehicle traveling at high speed. He sustained a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg. His business partner and medical provider were present at the hospital to oversee his care.

Sources close to Giuliani reported he is “in good spirits” and recovering rapidly, with expectations of a full recovery within days. His head of security, Michael Ragusa, emphasized the incident was not a targeted attack and urged the public to avoid spreading unfounded theories about the crash.

The award ceremony is expected to take place in the coming weeks, marking a rare recognition for Giuliani’s long-standing political career. Further updates on his condition will be provided as they become available.
