A Trump administration official was physically assaulted by a “deranged leftist” at the U.N. General Assembly this week, according to reports. The incident involved an individual from the Department of Health and Human Services, who was followed into a bathroom, recorded, and verbally accosted by the attacker.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly stated that the official was “safely” evacuated and the suspect, identified as Patricia Schuh, was arrested. Kelly criticized the U.N. for security failures, linking the incident to broader issues during President Trump’s tenure. “The UN must answer why these highly concerning incidents continue to happen against the president and his staff,” she said.

A U.S. UN spokesperson condemned the attack, calling it a “disturbing” breach of safety. The victim, who was supporting HHS Secretary RFK Jr., described being followed by a woman shouting insults while a bright light was directed at her. The altercation lasted approximately 10 minutes before she escaped.

Patricia Schuh, a 62-year-old woman, faces charges including assault, harassment, and criminal possession of a weapon. She was released from custody Friday but is scheduled to appear in court on November 13. Authorities confirmed the incident occurred Thursday near 6 p.m., with the victim receiving medical attention on-site. The U.S. Secret Service is investigating how the suspect entered the event.
