The site for former President Donald Trump’s presidential library has been officially announced. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis revealed that the facility will be constructed in downtown Miami, adjacent to the Freedom Tower, a structure linked to Cuban refugee history. The project is part of a broader development plan that includes a nearby hotel, marking the first presidential library to incorporate such a feature.

The decision was finalized by Trump’s team, with proximity to the Freedom Tower and waterfront access cited as key factors. The land, currently owned by Miami-Dade College, will be transferred to the state for the project. A vote by the Florida Cabinet, including DeSantis, is scheduled to approve the plan, which is expected to pass unanimously.

Florida officials praised the selection, with Attorney General James Uthemeier stating the location embodies Trump’s “story of strength, redemption, and victory.” The site was chosen over alternatives like Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University.

The final approval process will begin next week, setting the stage for the library’s construction in Miami.
