President Trump eviscerated CNN and its “corrupt” reporters — particularly Kaitlan Collins — while answering questions from the Oval Office today.
While speaking about the $1.776 billion weaponization fund, which has been terminated due to RINOs in the Senate, President Trump went off on CNN for “being crooked as hell.”
He then turned his focus to Kaitlan Collins, who was standing right there.
“She’s a young, beautiful woman who never smiles,” Trump said, “I never see a smile on her face. I see hatred in her eyes.”
Later, after Collins attempted to interrupt him, Trump told her: “Be quiet. You should be ashamed of yourself.” He also noted how she used to be a conservative from Alabama before working for what he called fake news.
Just in: President Trump is launching a generational takedown against Kaitlan Collins.
Trump stated: “People like you and CNN have abused our people!”
And: “Wait, be quiet. You should be ashamed of yourself. She was a conservative from Alabama — can you believe it?”
Furthermore, Trump added: “CNN now has new ownership. Maybe it’ll straighten out. I doubt it — hard to straighten garbage out.”
President Trump was clearly in no mood to put up with CNN’s “garbage lies” today.
This is not the first time Trump has criticized Collins. He frequently attacks her appearance and slams CNN’s reporting on him. In February, he accused her of not smiling during an interview, a moment Vice President Vance described as “so perceptive.”
Vance told Megyn Kelly: “She’s asking a question and the president says, ‘Why don’t you ever smile?’ It’s actually so perceptive — even if you’re asking a tough question or taking your job very seriously. Why does it always have to be so antagonistic?”
Trump also labeled Collins “stupid and nasty” in December when he claimed she was questioning construction on the White House ballroom. She later dismissed the remarks on social media, stating: “Technically, my question was about Venezuela.”
The president has also targeted female reporters. In November, he told a Bloomberg reporter to be “Quiet, piggy” after she asked about convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. That same month, Trump called a New York Times reporter “ugly, both inside and out” following an article on his health.
A CNN spokesperson described Collins as “an exceptional journalist,” reporting from the White House and field with “real depth and tenacity.” The spokesperson added: “She skillfully brings that reporting to the anchor chair and CNN platforms every day — audiences worldwide know they can trust.”
Trump has previously labeled Collins, who began her career as an entertainment reporter and later worked for the Daily Caller, as CNN’s “worst reporter.”
Collins joined CNN in 2017 to cover the first Trump administration.
