Turning Point USA announced on Thursday it would host a halftime show competing with the Super Bowl in February, branding the event as “The All American Halftime Show.” The organization revealed plans to celebrate “faith, family, and freedom” while inviting performers and details to be disclosed later. The event is scheduled for February 8, 2026.

A poll on Turning Point USA’s website asked visitors to choose preferred musical genres for the show. The announcement drew mixed reactions, with conservative figures like Jack Posobiec praising the initiative as “Huge. Make Halftime Shows Great Again. This is how we win,” and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) calling it “great.”

The event’s inclusion of Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican rapper known for his global popularity and cultural influence, sparked criticism from some conservative commentators. Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has faced scrutiny over his political views, including past criticisms of former President Donald Trump and support for Puerto Rican independence. His recent Saturday Night Live appearance, where he joked about audiences needing to learn Spanish, intensified backlash.

The NFL previously labeled Bad Bunny “the most popular artist on Earth” ahead of his September performance, highlighting his commercial success and cross-cultural appeal. However, Turning Point USA’s event has ignited debates over cultural representation and ideological messaging in mainstream entertainment.
