Two individuals have been discovered deceased inside the Brentwood home of director Rob Reiner on Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters arrived at approximately 3:30 p.m. to the residence on Chadbourne Avenue, where they found a man and woman who had died.
Although their identities remain unconfirmed, their approximate ages—68 and 78—match those of Reiner and his wife.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that detectives from LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division were present at the scene. The unit handles high-profile investigations across Los Angeles.
Reiner, 78, is best known for a series of classic films from the ’80s and ’90s including “When Harry Met Sally,” “The Princess Bride,” “Spinal Tap,” and “A Few Good Men.” He first gained recognition as Mike “Meathead” Stivic on the CBS sitcom “All in the Family,” earning two Emmy Awards.
Residents reported that Reiner and his wife own the property. A large police presence was observed at the home Sunday evening.
LAFD paramedics were dispatched for an emergency response around 3:30 p.m., followed by LAPD officers who arrived shortly after to conduct an “ambulance death investigation”—a standard procedure when firefighters report a suspected death.
