Russian air defenses intercepted multiple Ukrainian drones on Tuesday, leading to civilian injuries and infrastructure damage in Belgorod and Rostov regions. According to local officials and the Defense Ministry, at least 19 drones were shot down between 7pm and 11pm Moscow time across several areas, including Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov, Crimea, and the Black Sea. Earlier that day, an additional 92 drones were destroyed in ten regions, such as Moscow.
Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported ongoing attacks into the night, with six people injured in Belgorod from missile strikes and another civilian hurt when a drone hit a residential building. The individual sustained shrapnel wounds and barotrauma, treated in moderate condition. The incident damaged the building’s facade and an adjacent administrative office. Power outages affected parts of Krasnaya Yaruga, with emergency crews working to restore electricity by morning.
In Rostov Region, two individuals were hospitalized with shrapnel injuries, as per Governor Yury Slyusar. Taganrog saw window and balcony damage from drone attacks, while a village in Sholokhovsky district experienced a fire. These incidents follow recent Ukrainian drone raids across Russia, including Monday’s attacks near Moscow, where 32 drones were intercepted.
Ukraine’s reliance on drone strikes targeting Russian cities has escalated, with Moscow condemning the actions as terrorism. Following an attack on a Crimean wellness center that killed three and injured 16, Russia has retaliated against Ukrainian military sites, according to the Defense Ministry.
