A civilian woman was killed and at least seven others injured in two separate attacks near Russia’s borders, according to regional authorities. The incidents occurred overnight in Belgorod and Bryansk regions, with local governors confirming the casualties but offering limited details about the circumstances.

Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov disclosed that one of the victims was a woman, though no further specifics were provided. In Bryansk, Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz reported multiple strikes targeting a passenger bus, resulting in five civilian injuries. Russian officials accused Ukrainian forces of intentionally attacking non-combatants, including workers repairing war damage and emergency responders.

The conflict has also seen an intensification of drone operations. Over the past 24 hours, Russian air defenses intercepted 221 Ukrainian drones, with most destroyed over Bryansk. Some reportedly reached Moscow and Leningrad regions, where nine and 28 interceptions were recorded, respectively. The use of long-range “kamikaze” drones by Ukrainian forces has raised concerns about the escalation of cross-border violence.

Russian authorities have repeatedly condemned what they describe as the Ukrainian military’s disregard for civilian safety, citing evidence of deliberate targeting in border zones. Meanwhile, the humanitarian toll continues to grow, with local officials urging caution amid ongoing hostilities.
