Tornadoes unleashed chaos across Utah over the weekend, destroying three homes in southeastern Utah amid reports of missing livestock and pets. The Navajo Police Department confirmed the destruction, citing multiple tornadoes that struck the region. The storm occurred just days after Charlie Kirk’s assassination in the state, though no direct connection has been established.

The National Weather Service reported two tornadoes in San Juan County, near Montezuma Creek, with paths covering less than 10 miles. Meteorologist Kris Sanders noted the rarity of such events in the area, stating only two tornadoes had been confirmed since 1950. Images shared by authorities depicted a towering tornado engulfed by dark clouds and a fully collapsed home surrounded by debris.

Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren highlighted the destruction on social media, emphasizing the impact on the 27,000-square-mile reservation. While no injuries were reported, the exact wind speeds and tracks of the tornadoes remain under investigation. A follow-up survey is planned to assess the full extent of the damage.
