Vice President J.D. Vance announced plans to host a special episode of “The Charlie Kirk Show” on Monday, paying tribute to the late founder of Turning Point USA. The event will air on Rumble at 12:00pm ET, with Vance expressing his deep personal connection to Kirk.
Vance and Kirk shared a long-standing friendship that predated Vance’s political career. In a letter shared after Kirk’s death, Vance reflected on their bond, noting that Kirk was one of the first individuals he consulted when considering a U.S. Senate run in 2021. He credited Kirk with introducing him to key figures, including Donald Trump Jr., and highlighted Kirk’s role in shaping his political trajectory.
Vance recounted how their friendship began in 2017 after a casual Twitter exchange following a Tucker Carlson appearance. He described Kirk as someone who valued open dialogue, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to adapt his views. Vance emphasized Kirk’s influence in advocating for his vice presidential nomination and his unwavering support during the campaign.
The tribute followed news of Kirk’s death, which occurred during a meeting in the West Wing. Vance shared personal anecdotes about their relationship, including Kirk’s dedication to family, faith, and fostering meaningful connections. He also noted the impact of Kirk’s work in organizing events and uniting diverse groups around political causes.
Vance and First Lady Usha Vance traveled to Utah to assist in transporting Kirk’s remains to Phoenix on Air Force Two. The show on Monday will feature contributions from Kirk’s colleagues, including Andrew Kolvet, Tyler Bowyer, Jack Posobiec, and Blake Neff.
