A witch linked to a controversial ritual targeting conservative figure Charlie Kirk has issued statements following his assassination, sparking debate over the spiritual practices involved.

According to reports, Priestess Lilin, one of several witches contacted by Jezebel prior to Kirk’s death, claimed her work involved “spiritual” practices rather than physical harm. She stated, “Our spells are spiritual in nature and we do not perform actions that are intended to cause physical harm.” The ritual reportedly included burning a photograph of Kirk, as detailed in an article published by Jezebel.

Lilin’s comments came after she initially issued a statement on September 11, days after the assassination, which some interpreted as an attempt to distance herself from potential legal consequences. She later released another message expressing regret for any distress caused and offered to engage in private communication with Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk.

The Jezebel piece, titled “We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk,” described the process of purchasing a curse as simple as buying a phone charger. The article was removed after the assassination but fueled public discussion about the role of such practices in the tragedy.

Lilin emphasized that her work does not involve causing harm, stating, “While we cannot and would not claim responsibility for Mr. Kirk’s death, we do affirm that the magic we work with in our daily lives is very real.”
