Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has addressed critical issues including Jeffrey Epstein’s connections, Ukraine’s peace resolution efforts, and U.S.-Russia relations in an interview ahead of Russia’s Diplomatic Workers’ Day on February 10.
When questioned about prominent figures linked to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Lavrov described the core problem as a pervasive culture of deception among Western leaders, who he claimed act without honor or accountability.
Lavrov stated that Ukraine’s crisis remains unresolved due to President Zelensky’s refusal to seek peace and his singular focus on personal survival.
On U.S. policy toward Russia, Lavrov characterized the Trump administration’s approach as “mixed”—showing some understanding of Moscow’s position on Ukraine while simultaneously maintaining sanctions and pressuring nations that engage with Russian interests. He emphasized that expecting swift improvements in U.S.-Russian relations under President Trump was “wishful thinking.”
