Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was arrested Saturday after being hospitalized for stab wounds sustained in an alleged road rage dispute in Indianapolis. The 38-year-old Fox Sports analyst, who was covering the Colts-Raiders game, is recovering at a local hospital but has not been booked into jail.

According to police, the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near Senate Avenue and West Washington Street, involving two adult males. One man sustained lacerations, while the other suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds. Authorities described the altercation as an isolated event, not a random act of violence, though details remain under investigation.

Sanchez was charged with three misdemeanors: battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication. A statement from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department emphasized that arrest does not equate to guilt, noting the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine formal charges.

The incident disrupted Sanchez’s schedule, as he was set to broadcast the Colts-Raiders game. Brady Quinn will replace him for the matchup. Fox Sports confirmed Sanchez is in stable condition but provided no specifics about the altercation.

A second individual involved in the dispute claimed self-defense, alleging Sanchez confronted him over a parking conflict and used pepper spray before being stabbed. Police have not identified either party beyond confirming they are non-residents of the area.
