Whoopi Goldberg revealed this week that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) will be a guest on “The View” next week, drawing immediate reactions from the show’s hosts and political figures.

Goldberg, during an episode of the program, acknowledged Greene’s upcoming appearance, stating, “People in Washington are starting to say ‘my constituents.’ You know, they’re starting to remember why they’re there.” She added, “When you said Marjorie Taylor Greene, I’m happy to say that she’s going to be here on Tuesday,” before emphasizing shared concerns about the government shutdown.

Greene responded with enthusiasm, declaring, “I look forward to joining the ladies on The View on Tuesday!” The Georgia Republican’s presence on the show, however, sparked debate. Earlier this month, Goldberg praised Greene as “a very surprising voice of reason” during a segment where hosts lauded the congresswoman for her stance on healthcare policy.

Greene clarified in a social media post that she is “not a fan” of Obamacare but argued that expiring tax credits under the Affordable Care Act would disproportionately impact families, including her own. She criticized Republican leadership for failing to address the issue, stating, “I’m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE.”

The appearance also drew sharp criticism from within her party. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) accused Greene of adopting “very liberal” positions, including support for increased government spending and open borders, and urged others to ignore her comments. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) similarly downplayed her influence, stating he avoids reacting to her daily statements.

Greene defended her decision to appear on “The View,” dismissing critics as “pathetic Republican men” and asserting her commitment to prioritizing “America ONLY.” The controversy underscores growing tensions within the GOP over policy priorities and leadership.
