Ford has issued recalls for more than 855,000 vehicles nationwide, citing safety risks linked to defective dashboard displays and brake fluid leaks. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported the first recall affects approximately 355,000 pickup trucks, including certain 2025 F-150 models and 2025-2026 Super Duty trucks such as the F-550, F-450, F-350, and F-250. A malfunction in the instrument panel cluster can cause a blank screen during startup, obstructing access to critical safety information and gauges. Ford has not reported accidents or injuries tied to the issue but noted 95 warranty claims by June 26. The company will provide free software updates via dealerships or over-the-air downloads.

A separate recall targets nearly 500,000 vehicles due to a brake fluid leak. Certain 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX and 2015-2018 Edge SUVs are included, as the rear brake hose may rupture, increasing stopping distance and crash risk. Ford’s Chief Operating Officer Kumar Galhotra attributed the surge in recalls to enhanced safety testing, stating the company prioritizes addressing hardware and software issues. The latest actions add to Ford’s ongoing recall efforts this year, which have affected over 694,000 Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles for fuel injector problems and more than 850,000 cars for potential fuel pump failures.
