Longtime Infowars host Owen Shroyer has announced his departure from the network, citing unresolved conflicts with founder Alex Jones over editorial direction. In a video posted on X, Shroyer detailed disagreements rooted in Jones’ criticism of his reporting as “too negative” and “anti-Trump.”
Shroyer described prolonged friction with Jones, who allegedly interfered with his show’s content and structure. “Alex would come into my show and call me a pessimist, saying I was too anti-Trump,” Shroyer stated. He claimed Jones exerted constant oversight, dictating topics and guests, which he compared to having a “babysitter” monitoring his work.
The host revealed tensions escalated after a final conversation with Jones, who reportedly told him, “OK, we don’t need you. Good luck.” Shroyer confirmed he would no longer host the War Room, citing an inability to operate under such constraints.
Jones responded to Shroyer’s exit on X, asserting that Shroyer had sought to leave for weeks and that their relationship remained cordial. He emphasized his lack of censorship over Shroyer’s content but urged him to adopt a more “positive” tone regarding societal progress. Jones also dismissed claims of betrayal, calling Shroyer a “backstabber” in a separate statement.
