WNBA star Brittney Griner has filed for divorce from wife Cherelle Griner after eight years of marriage, according to court documents obtained by ABC News. The filing was submitted to the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia on Thursday.
The petition states that the couple, who married in June 2018, have been separated since July 24, 2026, and that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope of reconciliation.” Griner seeks joint physical custody of their son Bash, born in 2024. The petition also requests an “equitable division” of all marital assets and debts.
An attorney for Griner told ABC News the matter is being resolved privately with no further comment available at this time.
