Vice President J.D. Vance disclosed Friday that his administration’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud has identified $230 billion in fraud and prevented $56 billion in fraudulent payments during a White House cabinet meeting.
The announcement followed President Donald Trump’s remarks at the first-ever televised cabinet meeting held at Camp David, where Vance detailed the task force’s implementation of a whole-of-government approach to combat fraud.
During his address, Vance credited Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler, and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Douglas Collins for their contributions in uncovering fraudulent activity.
“This really has required a whole administration approach to try to tackle fraud,” Vance said.
President Trump highlighted Minnesota, California, and Maine as the states with the highest levels of corruption, adding: “The level of corruption is incredible.”
Vance concluded by stating: “We’re going to keep on working at it because we believe the American people deserve to have their money spent as you, the Congress, have directed.”
