Intense video footage captured a car explosion in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred just steps from Wall Street’s famous Charging Bull statue, sending nearby pedestrians into panic.
Firefighters responded to the scene around 5:42 PM and battled the blaze for more than an hour before extinguishing it shortly before 7:00 PM.
The explosion sent thick black smoke billowing through the financial district near one of New York City’s busiest tourist hotspots.
No injuries have been reported, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Videos from the scene show a vehicle that appeared to be MTA-affiliated parked on the road before igniting. Charred remnants were later found outside a Starbucks location.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority confirmed the car was part of its fleet and referred further inquiries to the FDNY.
