The FBI has confirmed that the girlfriend of Director Kash Patel is receiving a protective detail in response to credible threats. The bureau stated that Alexis Wilkins has faced hundreds of death threats due to her relationship with Patel, whom she has been dating for three years. The decision to provide security detail was made to ensure her safety, with the FBI noting it will not offer further information.
Wilkins has been the subject of conspiracy theories, including allegations she is an Israeli spy, which have led to legal action from a country music singer. The protective detail involves SWAT team members in Tennessee, a role typically reserved for high-risk scenarios such as terror attacks or hostage situations. Unlike other director spouses who have received protection, Wilkins has not been living with Patel at the time of the decision.
Recent reports revealed that Patel used a government-owned plane to travel to meet his girlfriend, despite previously criticizing his predecessor’s use of private jets. The $60 million jet was reportedly used for a trip to State College, Pa., where Wilkins performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a wrestling event. Photos from the Oct. 25 event showed Wilkins posing with Patel inside the venue.
Patel has been vocal about his opposition to government officials using official planes for personal business, stating in a 2023 podcast that he wanted to “ground Chris Wray’s private jet travel” as taxpayer dollars were used for such trips. Wray, his predecessor, was appointed by President Donald Trump.
