A violent incident unfolded in Dallas on September 10, 2025, when Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, an illegal immigrant, allegedly beheaded Chandra Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old motel manager. The attack occurred at the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard, where both men were employed.
According to police reports, the conflict began when Nagamallaiah confronted Cobos-Martinez and another employee about using a broken washing machine. Cobos-Martinez reportedly became agitated after being told to communicate directly with Nagamallaiah instead of relying on translation. He then left the room, retrieved a machete, and attacked Nagamallaiah. The victim fled toward the motel office, where his wife and son were present, but was pursued and repeatedly assaulted.
Witnesses described Cobos-Martinez pushing Nagamallaiah’s family away during the attack before severing his head. The suspect reportedly kicked the head into a parking lot, collected it, and disposed of it in a dumpster.
Cobos-Martinez had an active immigration hold at the time of the incident, underscoring tensions surrounding U.S. immigration enforcement. Local authorities have launched investigations into the case, which has sparked public concern over violent crimes linked to undocumented individuals.
