Iconic American coffee brand Maxwell House has announced a temporary rebranding of its name. The company, owned by Kraft Heinz, will rename itself “Maxwell Apartment” as part of a strategy to align with modern consumer priorities.

The decision marks the first name change in the brand’s 133-year history. Kraft Heinz stated the shift reflects evolving trends, noting that nearly one-third of Americans opt for renting over home ownership. The rebrand aims to resonate with consumers seeking value in everyday choices, particularly in housing and daily essentials.

Holly Ramsden, Head of Coffee, North America at Kraft Heinz, highlighted the brand’s focus on affordability, stating, “Two-thirds of American adults drink coffee every day, which can add up quickly.” The company is offering a 12-month “lease” on coffee, promising a year’s supply while maintaining the same blend, taste, aroma, and quality.

The rebrand emphasizes affordability and practicality, with Kraft Heinz asserting that Maxwell Apartment “delivers the same delicious taste people know and love, at a value that celebrates all our fans are doing to make smart choices in their lives.”
